An elegantly simple and exquisitely patinaed Biedermeier Sofa made during the first half of the 19th century, officially the Biedermeier style started in Germany from 1815-1848 and was seen as a simplified interpretation of the French Empire style of the Emperor Napoleon. This large piece consists of an intricately scrolled frame boasting a stunning Cherry veneer, flanked by adorable padded armrests, all supported by graceful and slightly curved cabriole legs, providing stability and sturdiness. The upholstery is not original and estimated to be a couple of decades old, it would need to be replaced as well as the springs. Circa date 1820. Dimensions 40"high/ 21"seat height/ 69"wide/ 28"deep.
