This is a rare and beautifully patinaed Side Table made from solid oak by the second half of the 19th century, originally coming from Elne ( Commune in the Pyrénées-Orientales department in southern France near the Spanish border, we advise you to google the name Elne to see nice pictures of the area). A strong Spanish influence is depicted from the beveled squared top accented with finials to the bottom shelf and brass feet, all connected to each other thanks to nice barley twisted columns and legs. Note the X-shaped stretcher providing stability. Several minor scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1880. Dimensions 30"high/ 16 ½”wide/ 16 ½”deep.
