| Japanese cream ground lacquer maki-e charger . The charger is made of metal with the most incredible craftsmanship I have seen in years the birds are worked with such detail and the cut gold and mother of pearl squares set in the branches and the tail feathers . The back is stamped but not readable but I can make out occupied Japan and there is a mon mark as well as the presentation inscription . condition there is a crack to the lacquer circled in one of the pictures its very faint as well as chips to each side possibly from a plate holder as there are on in the same place but opposite sides. size 2" h w 16 1/2" | |||||||||||||||
