| Large oil by listed Danish artist Albert Petersen (1875-1957) that was exhibited at the Paris Salon. Albert Petersen Oil's rarely come up for sale especially on this size (39 1/2" X 27 1/4"). This painting depicts an old man with highly detailed face collecting kelp at the North Sea. It is signed bt the artist an noted in french "Exposant au grand Salon Paris". Very good overall condition does have a patch approx 9" long verso. Comes with simple wood moulding frame that looks nice with this painting. Albert Petersen was born in Troelstrup, Denmark in 1875. He studied at Academy of Fine Arts under Otto Bache and S. Vermehren. His study trips brought him to Dresden, Rome, Vienna, Paris, Brussels, Antwerp and Amsterdam. His first exhibition took place in 1899 and later participated in various great exhibitions in many European capitals. | ||
