Vintage Pueblo Pottery by Grace and Camilio
Sale Price $1900.00 Original Price $2400.00

Lovely two tone pottery by father and daughter duo, Camilio Sunflower Tafoya and Grace Medicine Flower, made in the full size traditional style in the early 1970s. The 3" tall by 5" diameter bowl is highly stone burnished and pit fired to black with three sienna medallions that feature a still life of a basket, wedding vase and bundle of corn as well as two matching Avanyu, one on each side. The highly polished black surfaces of the top and bottom are sgrafitto carved with graceful undulating Avanyu, a favorite theme of Grace's.

When Joseph Lonewolf, son of Camilio, began the sgrafitto style of carving, his father and sister also began adding that to their full sized pottery. Later they both made miniatures for which they are famous today.

Pieces made by Grace and Camilio together are very rare as they only worked together for a short time.

Mint condition, this lovely jar is elegant in form. Signed for both by Grace. A small carved flower is off to the side of "Medicine Flower", Camilio Tafoya below.

Buyer pays $25.00 for packing, shipping and insurance.
