This is the pottery style that made Rondina Huma one of the most desired Hopi potters! In 1996 she took Best Of Show at the Santa Fe Indian Market and has been winning top awards ever since.
The olla shape is rare for her, she doesn't like to make the tall neck. At 5 3/4" tall this olla is perfect in form and finely decorated with her tiny sherd designs, well over 150 little segments.
Poychrome mineral and vegetal colors include two shades of red.
Pit fired, there is a dark spot at the base, probably the wind came up at just that moment!
Purchased from Rondina in the mid 2000s, photograph is included.
Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping and insurance.
