Fourteen inches tall, this is indeed a tall neck jar! Traditionally hand crafted by famed Maricopa Indian potter Vesta Bread, b.1912-d.1973. The old style shape is remarkable for the flatter shoulder than you would see on the more modern tall necks. Nicely painted, the red slip is deep and even in color. This is one of the nicer tall necks we have had by Vesta. Purchased at O'odham Tosh Fair in about 1969, very fine condition. There is a lean to the tall neck when viewed from one side, pretty common for this hard to make form. Buyer pays $25.00 for shipping and insurance. |
