Sweet little pottery jar with Rain Birds by Acoma Pueblo artist and matriarch, Lucy Martin Lewis. At 3 1/2" tall by 4" diameter it is not quite small enough to be a miniature, but it is a fine replica of her full sized storage jars. Traditionally hand built with coils of Native clay, decorated with orange slip and black bee plant, pit fired to a warm white. This little jar is in fine original condition, purchased about 1970. Buyer pays $12.00 for shipping and insurance. |
