David and Mary Tsikewa were the consummate carvers of bird and animal fetishes at the Zuni pueblo from the 1940-70s era. With well defined carvings, bears, wolves, coyotes, woodpeckers and cardinals, each critter has personality.
37 carvings on two strands of olivella heishe are hand carved from Zuni deep green serpentine, 25" long.
