Navajo Indian classic woman's blanket in the Second Phase style, circa 1880, is vibrant with aniline red, indigo blue and bands of natural white and brown native wool. The candy cane stripes are a vegetal green and indigo blue. The small size of 63" by 50" and the narrow brown and white bands indicate this was woven for a Navajo Lady. Comparable to a Chief Blanket, these were highly prized by other tribes and cost a pretty penny! Excellent condition, minor staining, photographed on Side A. Buyer pays $25.00 for shipping and insurance. |
