Brightly colored green and maroon glass seed beads are woven into the single rod basket, a Gift Basket of the Pomo Indians of California.
The weaver, Ethel Stewart, made these baskets from the 1940s-1970s. She obtained the glass seed beads from trader Leon Taylor, her favorite color being this light green!
Each bead is sewn into the construction of the sedgeroot wefts, creating two cross stepped bands, best viewed upside down.
The fine weave is 10 rods and 24 wefts per inch. 7" diameter and 3 1/4" deep.
Perfect original condition with no missing beads or stitches no coil breaks.
Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping and insurance
