Striking black on white design called Awatovi by Hopi Indian artist Burel Naha, son of Featherwoman, Helen Naha. Inspired by the pottery shards of the ancestors, the Naha family has created bold artistry on pottery for several generations. Burel and his sister Rainy are both award winning potters. Lovely fret work around the rim and four segments repeated of feathers, migration and stacked clouds. This nicely made coiled pot stands 4 3/4" tall and is 4 1/2" diameter. Pit fired. Circa 2000, excellent original condition, including a faint paint dribble near the base. Buyer pays $15.00 for shipping and insurance. |
