Mrs Tom Peshlakai was well known for her finely woven Yeibichai rugs during the 1950s and 60s. From the Shiprock area of New Mexico, she was so highly thought of that her rug was featured on the cover and inside of Gilbert Maxwell's classic book, "Navajo Rugs, Past, Present and Future", first published 1963.
Woven of very finely spun three-ply wool, she was able to get incredible details into each Yeibichai, including the Talking God and the Hogan God.
Also her color palette was unusual, including many pastels. This was a hard one to photograph accurately.
Circa 1950s, 42" by 63". Lovely original condition.
Buyer pays $30.00 for shipping and insurance.
