Mary Juan Maricopa Indian Pottery
Lovely, elegant pottery olla by Maricopa Indian artist Mary Juan. This is as good as Maricopa pottery gets! A fine wall, gracefully shaped and finely painted by the hand of Mary Juan.

Two slips, red and buff are always special, and this 1930s era jar is finely burnished and decorated, pit fired.

5 1/4" tall by 6" diameter, signed.

Perfect original condition! The paint is very strong and there is no evidence of handling or wear.

The whirling logs were employed extensively on Indian art until 1938. This lovely jar is from the Maricopa Revival Era.

From the estate of Orpha MacPherson, read about this interesting woman in our blog.

Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping and insurance.
