Annie Fields Mojave Pottery Toad
The famous Colorado River Toad hand crafted by Annie Fields, Mojave Indian from Needles, California.

The toad supposedly gave the Mojave people the gift of fire by swimming across the river with a glowing ember in its mouth, this one has already delivered the fire!

Hand crafted with native clay, decorated with black, red and yellow pigments and orange paint, pit fired.

Standing on four legs and decorated on his belly, this is a fine example of Annie's folk art style!

5 1/2" long by 3 1/2" tall.

Unsigned, but those eye lashes are a dead give away!

From a local collection of fine folk art type pottery.

Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping and insurance.
