Maricopa Indian Pottery Pig

First pig we've had by any Maricopa Indian potter! He is so cute with his curly tail, at one time he had black spots.

Traditionally hand crafted with native clay, stone burnished red slip is painted with mesquite sap, pit fired.

Although unsigned, there is a high degree of skill shown, note the personality!

8" nose to tail 4 1/2" tall.

Good original condition, hard to date, maybe 1950-70.

From a fine local collection of folk art pottery by the Indian of Arizona.

Buyer pays $15.00 for shipping and insurance.
