Charming female figure balancing a pot on her head is formed in native clay by Maricopa Indian artist Barbara Johnson, daughter of Mabel Sunn. The naif perspective implies the arms are sprouting from the head! Nicely formed, stone burnished and mesquite sap painted, pit fired. The Maricopa pot lady stands 10 1/2" tall. Fine original condition. Purchased from Barbara Johnson in the 1970s. Buyer pays $25.00 for shipping and insurance. |
