Yavapai Indian basket of willow and devils claw, woven by the famous Bessie Mike in the 1960s, very late for a coil basket. Bessie Mike was one of the last of the old generation Yavapai basket weavers. The willow is just beginning to get a patina. The basketry tray with four eagles in a flower with a checkerboard center is nicely woven. The rim is beautiful with the alternating willow and devils claw. 10 1/2" diameter. Mint condition.
