Wonderful old pictorial Navajo textile from 1910-15 features the sacred corn plant, storm pattern superimposed over it with two Navajo women, and arrows. Lots of symbolism of rain for the corn. The corn pollen is woven in and the roots go into the ground. Great folk art! Handspun native wool in natural browns and white with aniline dyed orange and red. Dimensions are 32" tall by 28 1/2" wide, perfect condition! Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping and insurance. |
