An exciting piece of tribal art by the famous Zuni Indian artist Teddy Weahkee (1890-1965). A complete deer hide, braintanned, painted with the Knife Wing God, mountain lion, Long Hair Kachina, Rainbow and lightning. Created in the 1930-40 era, Weahkee was known for his large scale painted hides. Employing mineral pigments like those used on Kachinas, this colorful and large art work portrays the symbols of the Hunter and Warrior Society. In fine original condition, the soft leather is remarkable for its age! No flaking of the paint and deer fur still intact. Dimensions are 64" long (the main body) by 39" wide. What a wonderful addition to any collection of fine Indian art. Buyer pays $25.00 for shipping. |
