Red pottery bowl traditionally hand crafted by Maricopa Indian artist Vesta Bread. Hand built with coils of native clay, stone burnished red clay slip, painted with boiled mesquite bark and pit fired. You can feel her finger impressions inside! The very round bowl stands 4 inches tall and is 5 1/4 inches across the body. Really nice geometric design, almost like a basket. One of six Maricopa pots purchased from Vesta Bread at her home around 1969. Unsigned, as she made them for the collector. Fine original condition. Buyer pays $12.00 for shipping. |
