Large coiled basketry tray with the Konin Kachina design. Beautifully woven with plant dyed colors, imbricated details. Konin is the Havasupai Kachina, it appears to be the face and two arrows below. Cloud band which is actually the Supai basket design. Nicely laid out! This vintage tray was purchased at Shungopovi in 1971 from Edith Longhoma, an award winning weaver featured in Helga Tiewes book on Hopi Basket Weavers. The 16 1/2" tray is in mint condition! Buyer pays $15.00 for shipping and insurance. |
