On offer is this late 19th century French silver mounted Chinese bottle vase, the mounts stamped Risler & Carre of Paris. This very fine Chinese bottle vase is decorated in a pale blue wash with famille verte enamels, the green enamel showing signs of iridescence. The painting is of a beautifully drawn prunus tree in blossom in a rocky landscape. The scratching to the vase body probably caused during the mounting of the silver. Now as a lamp it stands approx 35cm tall with the vase approx 23cm on its own. The porcelain vase is possibly from an earlier period and undamaged. For a comparison See Plate 96 R L Hobson Chinese Pottery And Porcelain. Very attractive.
