I know this specific design can be found bearing a really big signature - I want to say that it's an Aguilar creation but I just can't remember...

In emulation of Margot de Taxco's celebrated "koi fish" design a gorgeous clamper bracelet bearing the signature of J. Gomez. This seems to be an early piece by Gomez as it doesn't bear an Eagle assay mark, possibly dating in the mid- to later 1940s. The clamper consists of two opposing "wings" in the form of playful, large koi fish, each one adorned with beautifully colored turquoise cabochons...

Stunning studio sterling silver and pearl modernist ring bearing the signature of Bill and Patsy Roach (ROACH2), active since the 1960s with an impressive award-winning record and several of their designs in permanent museum collections in the US. Bill Roach was the son of renowned and well-written about modernist silversmith Ruth Roach and though he died suddenly in 1996, his wife Patsy continued creating and showing her jewelry...

Extra long and wrought in hand-hammered silver a pair of studio made modernist dangle earrings, each one adorned with two coral beads. Signed "Phyllis", a listed mid-century artist whose exact identity is still contested (see Marbeth Schon, Modernist Jewelry 1930-60, p. 104 and 262) this is an impressive set, eye-catching in its formidable minimalism, with fantastic oxidation and an almost organic feel to it. Each earring is 4" long by 1/2" wide (at its widest) and the set weighs 6.8 grams...

Based in Mexico City Plateria FarFan made some truly exquisite pieces - I love their massive mesh-style bracelets and necklaces (please take a look at item nos 1074808 and 1090049 for representative examples currently in my inventory) as well as their heavy charm bracelets. What is presented here, however, is a stunning repousse creation that bears their name - exquisitely detailed; elaborate yet carefully executed design; and minimalist carved amethyst "masks" make this a stupendous bracelet...

Stunning Matl-Salas sterling silver Palomas combination pin/pendant with meticulously worked repoussage and coral, amethyst and turquoise jewels. One of the most impressive pieces I have seen, its quality makes me think that it's an early 1980s example and its size just has me dazzled. I have paired it with an earlier, handwrought Mexican chain with elaborate links and appropriate length for such a stupendous pendant - the result is, to my eyes at least - beyond words.....

The second figural Graziella Laffi brooch currently in my inventory (please also refer to Troc item #1090959) this piece is really impressive and quite unusual. I believe that here too we are dealing with the representation of an ancient Inca god, shown with snakes around his waist and in his headgear. The deity's garb is made of thick silver overlay to add dimension and depth to the design, both qualities intensified by oxidation and carefully hand-chased details...

Stunning, big vintage 1950s Peruvian figural brooch bearing the signature of Italian-born Graziella Laffi, the so-called "Spratling of Peru". I believe the figure represents an Inca god, shown here with a snake coiled around his waist and holding two salamanders. The brooch is made of thick gauge silver sheet, perfectly cut and finished, with silver overlay parts and hand-chased details. A fantastic example of Laffi's exceptional design genius, it measures 2 1/4" tall by 2 3/8" wide...
