Eye-catching Deco Chinese silver filigree ring adorned with a bezel set turquoise in a towering setting and a row of wirework flowers surrounding it. Truly stupendous vintage brutalist silver ring - how can one even begin to describe it? Like a jagged terrain made of sterling, its ridges sharp and its valleys deep and oxidized, this is a veritable wearable landscape. Heavy, big, stunning with three gems adorning it that read as spinels on my Presidium DuoTester. The ring is a sz 7 with its face measuring 1 1/16" by 1" while the shank is 1/2" wide. Its thickness reaches an amazing 5/16" and it weighs 46.8 grams...

Gorgeous David Andersen vintage torque pendant necklace, its pendant I found referred to as "Thor's Hammer" and though there is no signature for the actual designer, there seems to be an agreement among experts that this is probably the work of Bjorn Sigurd Ostern. Made of sterling silver both pendant and neck ring have developed a patina to die for and even though the set was acquired together and has obviously been that way for a long time, I am not sure whose the signature on the neck ring...

An iconic modernist motif for Mexican silver jewelry, the "fish bone" or "skeleton" seems to have inspired "big names" (Antonio Pineda and the Los Castillo being among them) and less known yet talented maestros alike. I have seen it all in silver and with stone inlay but I have never had an enameled example before. Yet here it is - electric blue champleve enamel in perfect condition; just the color you want to wear when you go to the beach this upcoming summer...

I have only had a few pieces by RafMex over the years and was happily surprised to find their signature on the necklace and bracelet demi presented here. This is the perfect set for that romantic soul who appreciates Mexican jewelry for its quality and craftsmanship but shies away from big, bold pieces. I have seen this design by Margot de Taxco before - it can be found in all silver as well as adorned with amethyst or art glass cabochons in addition to the silver and copper combination - but I had never had a ring from this line in the past. I am partial to the marrying of the two metals as it is and in this case, the complexity of the repousse with its beading and undulating tendrils and the warm glow of beautifully patinated copper make for a stunning piece...

An early emulation of Spratling's iconic "Cocos" design, the demi presented here is an assembled set but the necklace and bracelet look so good together they make you feel they started their life in the same taller as well.
