With its beginnings in 1911, in Providence, Rhode Island, the Uncas Manufacturing Company is known for its high quality rings. The Deco example presented here shows how inventive the company was in its combination of materials and geometric designs.
A stunning oblong, tiered sterling silver face with all the bells and whistles of a Deco ring is studded with glistening marcasites. The little stones surround a domed rectangular agate (I believe) with saturated blues, greens and brows...

I am fascinated by the beauty and craftsmanship of early 20th c. Chinese jewelry - their repousse is outstanding, the detail and complexity of the figural pieces difficult to put to words and the window they open onto a culture so distant and enchanting literally invaluable. The scene that covers the face of all 7 curved links in this bracelet constitutes a proud statement of wealth, accomplishment and family pride...

Matching the necklace in the same design that is also currently available in my inventory (you can see the two pieces together in the first photo; look at item no 1157660 for more specifics on the necklace), a vintage Italian cast sterling silver figural bracelet in the style popularized by the Peruzzi Bros.. Frolicking naked little winged creatures form the links that are held together with sturdy, elongated oval connectors and they are just the right thing to put you in a romantic mood...

One of the most beautiful early 20th c. Chinese bracelets of this kind that I have seen, this piece is studded with perfectly cut tiger's eye cabochons. The vivid blue, purple and green enamels reflect brightly off the vermeil finish while the extra security of the safety chain is a welcome plus. Measuring 7" long (wearable) by 1 1/2' wide, the bracelet weighs 49.8 grams. It is marked "SILVER CHINA" and in excellent vintage condition.

For the Thespian in your life a Deco silver necklace that hails from Italy and consists of alternating figural and gem-holding links. Most probably brought back to the States by a young lady who bought it on her European "Grand Tour" in the opending decades of the 20th c., it boasts four different tragedy / comedy masks,
a fact that bespeaks the necklace's good quality. The
chrysoprase cabochons in turn are set in links with scroll and twist-rope wire accents...

A very good match for the silver and chrysoprase Italian tragedy / comedy masks necklace that is also currently available at One Good Eye the Deco bangle presented here is truly reminiscent of old, delicate European lace.
The pierced castings of floral and foliate designs are adorned with four oval chrysoprase stones in bezel settings and the combination of translucent green with the patina of well-loved silver is true eye candy.
Perfect if you want to combine it with the necklace I just a...

Early 20th c. Chinese silver filigree ring, adjustable as is the case with most similar pieces from the Deco years, featuring a carved jade figural "button". I believe the animal pictured is a panda, a symbol for peace and friendship, yet the carving is very stylized and I can't be sure. Silver leaves and flowers are applied around the stone and on the shank while the bezel setting is surrounded by twist-rope wire...

Very much in the style of the Peruzzi Brothers a sterling silver necklace made up of cast links showing pairs of frolicking chubby putti! One of the most endearing motifs in this type of Renaissance Revival jewelry putti are associated with Aphrodite, Eros and romantic love but they were also used as symbols of prosperity, peace, the Heavens and leisure.
In our case, the little winged creatures have very good detail - you can see the belly buttons on some of them even! - and they sit beautifu...

Housing a massive green stone, which I believe is chrysoprase, the early 20th c. Chinese bracelet presented here has a vermeil finish over the silver filigree that has darkened beautifully over the years. The stone in this piece is so big and its contour so interestingly irregular that the central link holding it had to be accordingly shaped! Around it there is a profusion of stylized "Shu" characters, bats, clouds and eternity knots executed in purple and blue enamels...

Set in a rectangular raised bezel accented by twist-rope wire decoration and two repousse spheres at either side the carved coral insert adorning this ring is simply a pleasure to look at. Featuring a bird perched on a flowering branch it is richly colored and equally rich in detail. The ring is a comfortable size 6 but easily re-sizeable. Its face measures 13/16" by 11/16" (not including the spheres) and its weight is 4.9 grams...

Gorgeous vintage sterling silver hinged bracelet, I believe this to be a late Art Nouveau example if not a nature-inspired piece of the 1940s. Some times it is difficult to say with jewelry that is not signed since styles held on after the "official" end of an era and techniques remained constant as well. This is obviously a hand-made bracelet and it consists of two "wings" replete with scroll and foliate repousse motifs...
