Generous in weight, very nicely cut out of medium thickness silver sheet, having carefully riveted links and lying around the neck in the most divine way, a pre-Colombian feathers motif necklace with an astounding presence! The design is easily recognizable as a Los Castillo book piece creation (see listing no 1174989 for a Los Castillo cuff in the same design) and it makes for one of the best fitting necklaces I have ever tried...

Created by Abraham Paz and available both under the maestro's own name but also bearing the hallmark of Fred Davis the "Shields" design is one of the quintessentially Mexican Deco jewelry examples. Its lines are so fluid and its less-is-more approach to personal adornment so in tune with contemporary aesthetics as well that it justifiably holds a prominent place in the index of classic design...

Fabulous pair of vintage Los Castillo weighted copper angel candleholders in a classic Salvador Teran design from the 1950s, I believe. These can be found in brass and silver plate with or without inlaid wings but I love the fantastic patina that the copper has developed over the years in this pair. Though a set, one of the pieces is slightly bigger than the other - they are after all handwrought works and bound to exhibit small dissimilarities...

A listed silversmith whose work does not come up very often, C. Molina is in my opinion one of the most interesting "less celebrated" contributors to Mexico's 20th c. silver Renaissance. I have had two or three pieces of his over the years and they have all been monumental examples with very good weight and impeccable craftsmanship. I would say that I actually deem his work as impressive and eye-pleasing as H. Santana's jewelry...

One of the sweetest early floral repousse Taxco necklaces, this piece is wrought in 980 silver and will come to you with its matching earrings. Deeply chased repousse, dramatically curving lines and excellent patina make for an eye-catching demi. The necklace measures 15 1/8" long (wearable) with its central tulip dangles part being 5 5/8" long by 1 5/8" tall. The width at the chain is 1/2" (at its widest). The earrings are accordingly 1/2" wide and 1 1/8" tall...

A sweet, summery set by Los Castillo featuring dramatic repousse flowers - I like to think they are daisies for some reason - comprised by the necklace and matching clip-on earrings. I suspect that whoever owned this necklace previously had the earrings turned into clip-backs and for some reason the jeweler elected to use silvertone findings...

It seems that in the 1940s the Los Ballesteros taller made several variations of "dimpled dot" bracelets, most of them hinged, and adorned with impressive gems held in raised crown settings. The piece here is possibly the most massive, absolutely breath-taking of the series. I could not exaggerate the powerful presence, the warm patina and the gorgeous, big simulated alexandrite stone that centers it...

Maximiliano Mondragon's work does not surface very often - in fact, it's a rather rare and fortunate occasion if one bumps into jewelry bearing his signature...

Pieces bearing his own signature don't surface very often and they therefore highly sought after. So I am thrilled to offer a classic, early ring by him here...

Exquisite, early Mexican silver and amethyst necklace this is a true show-stopper! Crescent shaped repousse links, each one embracing a richly colored amethyst cabochon, combine with a multitude of teardrop dangles to create a veritable celebration of Mexican artistry and craftsmanship. The necklace is 16 3/4" long (wearable; actual lenght is 17 1/4"). The width of each link is 3/4" and the central part with the dangles is 3 3/4" long and will hang 1 7/8" (crescent links plus dangles)...

The second Maricela necklace currently available in my inventory (please look at item no 1196415), I am thrilled to have found this piece with its matching earrings...

A book piece and one of the most impressive designs in Sigi Pineda's "boomerang" line this bracelet is adorned with a wire-wrapped, polished tiger's eye gem - I have seen it with amethyst and chrysoprase as well as with black onyx and have one of the latter in my inventory presently (just look for item no 1108655 here on Troc!).
