Based, I believe, on a Hector Aguilar creation a gorgeous necklace with links in a stylized cactus flower design made by one of my favorite "less celebrated" makers who signs his work with initials A and E in a heart-shaped M. This is a masterfully made necklace with very good weight and it sits like a dream around the neck. Not to overdo it but its patina is also to die for. The necklace measures 16 1/2" long (wearable) by just over 7/8" wide and weighs 76.9 grams...

Signed by "AEM" or "AE Heart" because of the heart-shaped "M" that surrounds initials "AE" this is the perfect bracelet for a Davis lover with a small wrist! Very well executed in sterling and black onyx, the iconic "shield and dome" design is classy and quintessentially Mexican Deco. This piece measures a wearable 6 1/4" long (actual length is 6 7/8" but due to its large links it wouldn't fit a wrist bigger than 5 3/4"). Its width is 1 1/8" and it weighs 52.6 grams...

One of my favorite designs of the so-called "archaeological" genre, I have seen similar pieces bearing Victoria's signature but this one is made by an artist who signs his name with initials "AE" in a heart-shaped "M". Though we don't know much about the specific maker, we do know that his work was appreciated enough by his colleagues that his signature can be found on jewelry by Rancho Alegre and Estela Popowski...

Antonio Pineda's work needs hardly be introduced to the lovers of vintage Mexican silver jewelry. One of - if not the - most innovative designers of the country's 20th c. Silver Renaissance, his pieces are monumental, daring and simply perfect. The "thumbprint" bracelet at hand is one of his iconic "book-pieces". Substantial in proprotions and weight, it still remains comfortable to wear and hugs the wrist in the most intimate of ways...

Vintage Antonio Pineda pair of mod earrings in his so-called "thumbprint" design, this is the perfect gift to complement the bracelet or necklace you already have. Classic Antonio, substantial in presence, with excellent patina - just how you want them to look. Each earring measures 3/4" tall by 5/8" wide and 7/16" deep (at their deepest). The set's weight is 18.3 grams and it is fully signed as shown with Antonio's crown, "970", "HECHO EN MEXICO" and Eagle 58 assay mark...

A vintage Antonio Pineda tie clip out of the designer's mod line that combined oxidized silver with pearls. Very slick, understatedly elegant and in excellent condition with an obligingly tight spring. The clip measures 1 1/2" long by 3/8" wide and it weighs 9.7 grams...

Signed with initials "AAR", which have been associated with Antonio Reina, a hinged bracelet in a pre-Colombian mirrored design based on an original Margot de Taxco creation. The deeply chased design in the bracelet's face reminds me of highly stylized line drawings of birds facing in opposite directions. The cut-outs in the side links and the beading accents intensify the piece's "archaeological" period feel...

Undoubtedly inspired by Margot de Taxco's Koi Fish line, a pair of early Antonio Reina repousse earrings showing playful fish among stylized silver waves. I can't get over the detail in this set - just note the depth of the repoussage, the detail in the scales and the hand-hammering in the waves themselves to render them three-dimensional. The earrings are 1 5/8" long by 15/16" wide and weigh 8.4 grams (for the set)...

In my opinion one of the best maestros in the art of repoussage, Jose Anton created both holloware and jewelry and was among the first Taxco Renaissance silversmiths. His work has never disappointed me - very creative designs, confident repousse and beautifully combined silver and stones elevate his pieces above the level of most of his contemporaries. I have seen the bracelet at hand with amethyst as well but I find that the onyx ascribes a certain kind of classiness to the design...

I suspect that the design for this clamper bracelet by Antonio Reina is related to Margot de Taxco's hearts, cupids and roses line only here the different elements were combined in a bouquet in the hands of an anonymous lover. I have only seen one other piece in this specific design that was made in the pre-1948 period; usually similar pieces are newer making this example here a rather rare find and an early Reina piece as indicated by its low design number...

Absolutely stunning sterling silver necklace with graduated cast links in three different sizes, this is a piece that though not marked as such resembles similar Italian pieces from the best lines of the Peruzzi or Coppini Bros. The necklace has both fruit and floral motifs - the smaller links showing cherries in a shield frame, the larger actually combining those with a flower in full bloom. The three central links were created by mirroring the combined floral and fruit motif links. Exce...

Though not marked, I have no doubt in my mind that the stupendous bracelet presented here is an early Mexican piece. Its workmanship, the way the thick silver has been chased and oxidized and the huge amethyst cabochon that adorns it all point in that direction...

$275.00
Gorgeous vintage sterling silver hinged bracelet, I believe this to be a late Art Nouveau example if not a nature-inspired piece of the 1940s. Some times it is difficult to say with jewelry that is not signed since styles held on after the "official" end of an era and techniques remained constant as well. This is obviously a hand-made bracelet and it consists of two "wings" replete with scroll and foliate repousse motifs. The central medallion shows a deer among more foliage framed in an almost ...

Inlaid with the most saturated, shimmering abalone shell I have encountered this is a stupendous early Deco Mexico City silver bracelet. Wear it loose around your wrist or push it further up like an armband - the result is equally spectacular. I have never seen this specific design before - the two overlapping leaves that adorn its face are made of thick silver sheet with double overlay and the shell in them brings to mind the glistening rainbow in a peacock's tail feathers. Measuring 7 1/4" ...

Bold in its simple yet powerful machine-age style a vintage Deco Mexican silver and turquoise bracelet made up of three rows of domed, open links. The central row is adorned with bezel set cabs, their color varying between shades of turquoise blue and sage green. Please note ow clever the hidden clasp is! Measuring 7 3/4" long (wearable) the bracelet is 1 3/16" wide and weighs 55.5 grams. It is simply marked "MEXICO SILVER" and dates in the 1930s-40s. In excellent vintage condition with great...
