My second "carved hearts" set for the day - this one has repousse frames that hug apple green agate stones with beautiful color variation and perfect carving. The earrings have dramatic arrows going through them... The brooch measures 2 1/8' tall by 1 7/8" wide (at its widest) and weighs 32.4 grams. The earrings are 2 1/4" by 7/8" and their weight registers at 16.9 grams...

"JSE" is a listed Taxco maestro whose work I have had several times over the years and can recommend without any hesitation for his attention to detail and his beautiful repousse. The bracelet at hand is generously wide and though its design at first sight betrays "archaeological" origins, when you look at it again it can easily be perceived as a mod, stylized interpretation of a hand with folded fingers...

Signed by "AEM" or "AE Heart" because of the heart-shaped "M" that surrounds initials "AE" this is the perfect bracelet for a Davis lover with a small wrist! Very well executed in sterling and black onyx, the iconic "shield and dome" design is classy and quintessentially Mexican Deco. This piece measures a wearable 6 1/4" long (actual length is 6 7/8" but due to its large links it wouldn't fit a wrist bigger than 5 3/4"). Its width is 1 1/8" and it weighs 52.6 grams...

A truly monumental sterling silver bracelet from Peru, this pieces features intricate cut-outs, dramatic oxidation and figural appliques at the center of each link. The workmanship here is beautiful and the figures are crisp in detail standing out against their textured background. Extra wide at just above 2" the bracelet has an inner circumference of 7 1/8" (clasped) and it weighs 76.9 grams. It is simply marked "PERU 925", dates in the 1950s-60s and is in excellent vintage condition.

A vintage Antonio Pineda tie clip out of the designer's mod line that combined oxidized silver with pearls. Very slick, understatedly elegant and in excellent condition with an obligingly tight spring. The clip measures 1 1/2" long by 3/8" wide and it weighs 9.7 grams. It is fully signed with Antonio's crown as well as Eagle 17 assay mark and "970" "STERLING TAXCO MEXICO" and dates in the 1950s-60s.

For the lovers of vintage Mexican silver jewelry who are also lovers of equines, a gorgeous set of Margot de Taxco sterling repousse cufflinks in the shape of a horse head. I find the animal's portrait majestic - the way it holds its head allows its strength and beauty to come out in the best possible way. Each cufflink is 1 1/8" tall by 7/8" wide and the set weighs 10.8 grams. It is fully signed with Margot's name as well as with a badly stamped Eagle mark and des. no 5160...

One of my favorite makers of zodiac charm bracelets, the maestro who created this piece is still unidentified but signs his pieces with initials "LC" as well as with a crown hallmark. I love this creations for their weight, careful finishing work and the architecturality of the open "pillow" links that form the chain. I recently sold an example by him with abalone inlay in each charm - this bracelet here has overlay charms with the astrological signs heavily oxidized...

Matching the set of sterling cufflinks that are also currently available in my inventory, a Margot de Taxco equestrian brooch in superb repousse with depth enhanced by gorgeous patina and Margot's signature quality in the design's execution. It measures 2 1/4" wide by 1" tall and weighs 12.1 grams. Fully signed with her name, a not so well stamped Eagle mark (should be Eagle 16) as well as with des. no 5160 the brooch dates in the 1950s-60s and is in excellent vintage condition.

Quintessentially Deco in its angularity and the tiered construction of its links, this necklace is signed by yet another "unsung" maestro of early Taxco. I don't think that Narvaez is even mentioned in the literature (at least not in what I have looked at) yet I have come upon his work a few times before and came to associate this specific design with his name...

Koi fish is a motif automatically associated with Margot de Taxco in Mexican silver jewelry - the Grande Dame's love for Japanese art provided inspiration for many of her designs and those who either worked with her or simply emulated her creations helped the influence live on even after she stopped being active. The bracelet at hand is a rare find - not only because it's not repousse but consists of links carefully cut out of thick silver sheet but also because the fish are inlaid with shimm...

Pectoral necklaces are, in my opinion. one of the most stunning forms in vintage Mexican silver jewelry and I count Gerardo Lopez as one of the best maestros who applied themselves to making them. Though there is not much information on him in the extant literature (at least of what I have seen), I suspect that he must have had some kind of association with the Los Castillo taller and/or Margot de Taxco...
