MOD MEXICAN SILVER CARVED AGATE SEAHORSE BRACELET
Signed by one of my favorite less "celebrated" maestros a rare, very impressive bracelet adorned with a hand-carved sky blue agate figurine of a seahorse. I like to call the specific maker "the heart artist" because his signature (I am assuming we are talking about a man!) consists of the initials A and E in a heart-shaped "M". Not much is known about him though he is listed. What we do know is that he also produced pieces for Estela Popowski and Rancho Alegre and that should be another proof of his exceptional craftsmanship and sense of design. The bracelet has an inner circumference of 7" (clasped) with the width of the "arms" varying between 5/8" and 1". The concave applique in the front is 2 1/4" wide and 1 5/8" tall and the agate seahorse approx. 1" square. Weighing 81.5 grams it is signed with maker's initials as well as with Eagle 23 assay mark alongside "STERLING" "HECHO EN MEXICO D.F. 925". It dates in the 1950s-early 1960s and is in excellent vintage condition.
