 SOLD - Thank you!
One of Salvador Teran's most impressive creations, the "Dancers" are the epitome of modernist Mexican jewelry design. Not very easy to find and avidly sought after, it gives out a strong sense of motion and harmony that is very difficult to achieve. The necklace presented here is not signed by Teran and was probably made by one of his associates during the period that Salvador was also selling his pieces. I would say, however, that the craftsmanship and attention to detail is of the highest level here as well and the patina the necklace has acquired over time makes the three-dimensional effect of the silver overlay even more dramatic. With an inner circumference of 15" the necklace is 1" wide at the center front and tapers down to 1/4" near the clasp. It weighs 80.7 grams and is signed "SILVER" and "STERLING MEXICO" alongside a badly stamped Eagle assay mark. Dating in the 1950s-60s and in excellent vintage condition.
