|I would never have thought that the necklace presented here was not made in the 1930s or 1940s - design, construction, even the way it is hallmarked point in that direction. Yet it is later as indicated by the maker's registration code - I think it must have been made around 1980. Heavy clusters of bead and tube dangles adorn the central part of the necklace creating an impressive sense of abundance and luxury. The brushed spheres look to have been hand-wrought (the seam where the two parts were put together is almost visible) as do the textured links of the chain. A fantastic piece with extraordinary presence it measures 17 3/8" long with its central part being 6 1/2". At the chain, its width is 1/4" while the dangles add a 2 5/8" drop. Signed with maker's registration code "TB-131" and "STERLING MEXICO 925" in a circle, it dates around 1980 and is in excellent vintage condition.|
