SOLD - Thank you!
I am very partial to this early, as evidenced by its design number, Los Castillo necklace because it was the first "big name" Mexican piece I ever acquired year ago. Its intricate knot and bead medallion with the teardrop dangle is so enchanting to look at - the circles and curlicues and spheres seem to be in a constant flux. The same sense of movement is mirrored in the links of the chain as they alternate facing opposite directions - just masterful. The matching bracelet is also available in my inventory - you can see both pieces in the last photo here - and they are indeed a stunning set. The necklace measures 16" long (this is the wearable, useable length - its actual length is a little bigger but I have to leave allowance so you can hook the clasp) and at the chain it is 1/2" wide. The central medallion is 3 1/16" wide by 2 1/2" tall (including the dangle). Weighing 57.1 grams, this piece is fully signed with the Los Castillo name as well as "TAXCO", "MADE IN MEXICO STERLING" and des. no 339. Dating in the 1940s and in excellent vintage condition with the most imperceptible, almost non-existant light impression in the dangle; not easily noticeable and absolutely not offensive to the eye.
