| Fabulous, very rare and rather early example of Danish silver jewelry signed by H. Saugmann Bjerregaard, active in Kjellerup in the years between 1921 and 1937. True to its period, the bracelet has an Egyptian Revival theme with its five panels showing Sphinxes holding carved, prong-set chrysoprase stones in them. Fantastic detail and workmanship of the highest quality combined with the early date, the unusual theme (at least for most of what we know as Danish silver jewelry), and its rarity make this a collector's dream come true. The bracelet has an inner circumference of 7 1/4" and is 1 7/16" wide. It weighs 71.2 grams and is signed with Bjerregaard's initials "HSB" and "STERLING". Dating in the late 1920s-1930s, it is in excellent vintage condition. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A 5-PANEL BRACELET ; it was just impossible to photograph laid out flat because of the safety chain. | ||
