I suspect that the design for this clamper bracelet by Antonio Reina is related to Margot de Taxco's hearts, cupids and roses line only here the different elements were combined in a bouquet in the hands of an anonymous lover. I have only seen one other piece in this specific design that was made in the pre-1948 period; usually similar pieces are newer making this example here a rather rare find and an early Reina piece as indicated by its low design number. Fantastic repoussage, excellent patina and a very very tight hinge contribute to the clamper's appeal. Its inner circumference is 7" while its width varies between 2 1/2" in the center front and 7/8" at its narrowest. Weighing 61.5 grams it is signed with Reina's initials "AAR" as well as des. no 30 and "HECHO EN MEXICO 925" and "STERLING TAXCO". A 1940s piece in excellent vintage condition.
