| Dating in the 1950s-60s, a heavy, stunning Mexican silver lariat having two generously round brushed sterling tassels at its two ends. This is one of the most flexible necklace designs, I believe, and judging from the fact that I have been trying to lay my hands on one for quite a long time, highly collectible too. Thick, heavy twist rope chain that can be doubled-up even, if you can wear a medium choker size, and beautiful patina contribute to the "eye-catchiness" of this piece. It is fully adjustable due to the moveable clip that holds the two sides of the chain together and I think I would even try wearing it as a bracelet! The necklace's chain alone measures 36" long and it's 3/16" in diameter; each ball and tassel are 2 1/2" long (with the bail) by approx. 3/4" wide (the diameter of the sphere) thus bringing the necklace's overall length up to 41". Weighing a stupendous 158.0 grams it is signed with maker's initials "GMS" as well as Eagle 1 assay mark and "TAXCO MEXICO 925". In excellent vintage condition with one very very shallow, almost imperceptible impression in one of the spheres. | ||
