The primary designer for Rancho Alegre, Miguel Martinez is a maestro whose work I have come to value for its imaginative design, superb quality and extremely careful finishing. Monumental both in terms of its dimensions but also due to its weight, the cuff at hand is heavy, with thick overlay and oxidation that accentuates its architecturality. A true work of art that combines Taxco's early love for pre-Colombian motifs with Martinez's prowess in silver overlay. With an inner circumference of 7" (including the 1" gap) the cuff is 2 1/4" wide at center front and weighs an impressive 101.4 grams. It is relatively adjustable but because of its thickness, I would recommend you ask your jeweler to do any necessary adjustments to it. Signed with both Martinez's name in script as well as with des. no 1003 and "RANCHO ALEGRE" "STERLING 925" and "TAXCO" it doesn't have an Eagle assay mark but I would still date it in the 1950s probably since Rancho Alegre was established in 1952. In excellent vintage condition and stunning.
