|An early example of Hector Aguilar's rare to find "Six Spheres" necklace, this piece is nothing but truly massive. Long, with hefty links forged out of his favorite 940 alloy, it has a regal presence and constitutes one of those accessories that become coveted heirlooms. The quintessential book piece, the necklace has been featured in Penny Morrill's books on the maestro but also in her other books on the Taxco Renaissance. And it is not difficult at all to see why - mastery in its conception and execution, impressive proportions and the sense of well-bred self-confidence that radiates from it all contribute to the high position it occupies in the index of Taxco jewelry design. The necklace measures 24 1/4" long (wearable) by 1 5/8" wide and it weighs an impressive 297.0 grams. It is signed as shown with a combination of hallmarks that Bille Hougart dates in the 1940-45 period and is in excellent vintage condition with a couple of spheres having minor impressions.|
