One Good Eye Silver

SOLD - Thank you!
Bearing a mystery signature - to my eyes it looks a lot like one of the signatures used by Pedro Castillo but I just can't say for sure - a superbly executed clamper bracelet from the golden years of Taxco repoussage. Cactus fruit and prickly branches applied on a heavily oxidized background face each other on the clamper's two opposing wings - the result is intensely graphic and such an iconic representation of old Mexico. The bracelet has an inner circumference of 7 1/2" and its width varies between 3 1/2" at the front and 1 1/8" in the back, next to the hinge. It weighs 67.9 grams and is signed with a combination of initials as shown as well as "STERLING" in early raised letters and "TAXCO MEXICO" and dates in the 1930s-40s period. In excellent vintage condition with pronounced repousse, dark oxidation and a very strong, snappy hinge.
