One Good Eye Silver
(607) 651 9565
|Signed by a listed maker about whom little is still known (isn't this the story of most early Taxco maestros though?), a very well made repousse sterling silver necklace and earrings set. Wrought in a pre-Colombian motif, the links have deep oxidized recesses and the whole set has acquired the patina one wants to see on old, well-loved silver. Comfortable to wear, impressive but not overwhelmingly heavy, this demi can easily accompany you at the office or accent your evening dress similarly successfully. The necklace measures 15 3/4" (wearable; actual length is 16 1/4") by 5/8" wide. The earrings are 1 1/8" by 5/8" and the set's combined weight registers at 44.3 grams (necklace alone is 37.3 grams). Signed with maker's initials "JSE" as well as "TAXCO 925" and bearing Eagle 3 assay mark. Dating in the 1950s-60s and in excellent vintage condition.|
