Early Taxco sterling silver and copper repousse necklace in a design based on an original creation by Margot de Taxco. Heart-shaped links embellished with semi-spheres, beading and scroll work come together to form a veritable “mixed metals” classic. Very well made and exceptionally comfortable to wear the necklace is 16 1/8″ long (wearable; actual length is just shy of 16 1/2″ – easily lengthened with the addition of a sterling extension) by 3/4″ wide and weighs 49.5 grams. Simply marked “STERLING TAXCO” it dates in the 1940s and is in excellent vintage condition with patina to die for and very well crafted. There is one tiny, pin prick impression in one of the copper domes, very difficult to spot and definitely not detracting from the necklace’s beauty.
