The quintessential book-piece and one of Hector Aguilar's most loved and time-defying creations the Maguey necklace at hand is wrought in almost pure, 990 silver and dates early in the maestro's career. Stunning, difficult to find and sublime, it measures 18″ long (wearable) with the central links part being 6 1/8″ long by 1 5/8″ tall (at center front) and the chain having a width of 1/2″. It weighs a good 178.00 grams and is fully and appropriately signed with Aguilar’s conjoined initials as shown as well as “990” and “TAXCO” in early raised letters, a combination of hallmarks he used in the 1940-45 period. In excellent vintage condition with no flaws noted, fantastic patina and regal presence.
