A true show-stopper and a rather rare piece bearing the signature of Doris, this cuff bracelet has the quality of those pieces that become heirlooms, bequeathed from mother to daughter for generations. An American from Dallas trained in woodworking, textile making and silversmithing, Doris opened her workshop in Mexico in the mid-1940s and commissioned designs by the most accomplished silversmiths. The cuff at hand is a celebration of its maker's prowess in the art of repoussage and classic in its floral design for Doris. It has an inner circumference of 6 1/4" (including the 15/16" gap; not adjustable unless you have a jeweler do it for you) and its width varies between 2 3/8" at center front and 3/8" at its narrowest. It weighs 63.8 grams and is signed with Doris's name as well as "SILVER MEXICO". Dating in the mid-1940s and in excellent vintage condition with superb craftsmanship and a rich, highly detailed design.
