Gorgeous Maricela sterling silver necklace and earrings set, this demi seems to be among the early work that came out of Isidro Pina's taller, first established in 1943. A perfect illustration of Maricela's careful cratsmanship and their sensitive approach to nature themes, the set has an almost Art Nouveau flair about it or even better, a proximity to Scandinavian naturalist design with its heavily oxidized recesses, its exceptional sculpturality and glistening beadwork. The necklace is 15 3/4" long (wearable; once clasped its actual length is 16 1/4") by 3/4" wide while the earrings are 1" square and the set's combined weight registers at 59.8 grams. Is is signed "MARICELA", "HECHO EN MEXICO 925" and "TAXCO 925" on the necklace; the earrings are simply marked "MEXICO SILVER". The set dates in the 1930s-40s and is in excellent condition with the patina you want to see on silver of this vintage, with no damage or repairs noted.
