Having worked as early as at least the middle Taxco period, maestro Morales is known for his high quality jewelry in the style of Matilde Poulat. The cross pendant necklace I am presenting here is from the post-1980 period yet retains the attention to workmanship, materials and finishing that his earlier pieces are collected for. And the fact that it comes with its original, heavy chain dating in the same period as the pendant is an added bonus. Measuring 4" long (without the bail) by 2 7/8" wide, the pendant adds a slightly longer drop to the chain which is itself 24 5/8" long and 1/8" wide and has its own safety chain. The two pieces weigh 60.2 grams together and are signed, the pendant with Morales's name as well as his registration no TC-102 while the chain is marked "TM-71" and also bears maker's initials as shown. In excellent vintage condition, heavy and very well made, with all its jewels intact and having great patina.
