One of Margot's most vividly colored enamel pieces, this Quetzacloatl necklace is incredibly versatileI. The silver and black chain can be paired with other Margot pendants while the pendant can be dis-attached and worn as a brooch by itself. I am not aware of any other Margot designs that convey such an intense sense of the jungle, an effect accomplished by her workshop's unparalleled mastery of the enameling process. Measuring 2 5/8" in diameter the pendant adds an equally long drop to the chain which is generously long at 21". The set weighs a good 99.2 grams, dates in the 1950s-60s and is fully signed with Margot's name as well as "STERLING MADE IN MEXICO", des. no 5753 and Eagle 16 assay mark. In excellent vintage condition with stunning presence.
