A listed maestro, A. Porkayo was not a name I would ever associate with Hector Aguilar's "armadillo" design yet here it is, a stunning, very well made necklace and earrings set with what seems to be original patina and oxidation (you can always buff it a little bit but I did not want to touch it!). This is a substantial demi - the necklace alone weighs a generous 116.6 grams and at a wearable 17" princess length it will fit most of us quite comfortably. Careful riveted construction with the graduated links varying in width between 1 3/8" and 7/8"while the matching earrings (not so easy to find) are 1 1/8" tall by 7/8" wide. The demi weighs a combined 126.2 grams (9.6 grams for the earrings) and is signed with Porkayo's name as well as "STERLING TAXCO MEX" alonside Eagle 3 assay mark on the necklace. The earrings are simply marked "SILVER MEXICO". Dating in the 1950s-60s and in excellent vintage condition with eye-catching presence and patina to die for.
