Exhibiting the superlative craftsmanship and attention to detail maestro Isidro Garcia Pina's jewelry is known and collected for, a vintage Maricela Mexican silver necklace whose floral links remind me of hibiscus blossoms. Pina is associated with Taxco naturalism and his rendition of flowers and foliage is en par with similar Scandinavian pieces. I love the fleshiness of the links, the way the petals curl and the deep chasing for the veins that makes them look almost true to life. The necklace is 16 3/4" long (wearable; once clasped, it becomes a little roomier at 17 1/4") and it's 1 1/8" wide. It weighs 67.2 grams and is fully and appropriately signed with the line's name as well as "STERLING" and "925 Tasco". There might be a badly stamped Eagle mark there as well but it's too difficult to tell so I will date the necklace in the 1940s-50s period. In excellent vintage condition with the warmest glowing patina you have seen and absolutely no flaws noted.
