Impressive Los Castillo sterling silver cuff bracelet in the taller’s double pre-Colombian swirl design, this is an early piece as is indicated by the straight capital letters signature and its low design number. Heavy gauge silver, dramatic hand-chasing and oxidation and beading combine in a virtual show-stopper. I have not touched the patina on it which I suspect might be original to the cuff and am thrilled to present it in the amazing condition it came to me in. A stunning, early Los Castillo treasure, it has an
inner circumference just shy of 7″ (including the 1 3/16″ gap), it is 1 3/4″ wide and weighs a generous 90.3 grams. Fully and appropriately hallmarked with
maker’s signature in early straight letters as well as “TAXCO STERLING” and “MADE IN MEXICO”. The cuff dates in the 1940s and is in
excellent vintage condition with stunning presence and no damage or repairs noted.
