Wonderful Japanese Meiji Period silver hand painted fan. The front of the fan has a winter scene with falling snow and a snow frosted tree with a pair of white egrets. The back of the fan has the snow frosted leaves of a plant. Beautifully hand painted. The silver coated paper has developed a beautiful patina. The fan measures 12 1/2" tall and 23" across.
